\nCLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY
\nPharmacodynamic properties
\nDiclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory whose mechanism of action, like other
\nNSAIDs, is not fully understood. Its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis participates in
\nits pharmacological action. Betamethasone is a glucocorticoid that suppresses inflammation
\nby multiple mechanisms, inhibits the production of various intermediates of the inflammatory
\nreaction, including vasoactive and chemotactic factors; decreases the secretion of lipolytic
\nand proteolytic enzymes; it produces less extravasation of leukocytes towards the areas of
\ninjury and reduces fibrosis; finally, it also affects the number and the immune reactions
\ndependent on lymphocytes. Cyanocobalamin is essential for cell growth and replication. Its
\nderivative, Methylcobalamin, is required for the formation of methionine and S-adenosyl
\nmethionine from homo cysteine. Cyanocobalamin deficiency can cause irreversible damage
\nto the Nervous System, observing progressive swelling of neurons with demyelination and
\nneuronal death.<\/p>\n
